NATIONALS

Our 2005 Nationals Competitors &Officials.

Congratulations to all those who competed in the Australian Nationals 2005, at Mulwala, NSW. The weather was mostly fine and the water was pretty good the events were run very well and a good time was had by all. Many thanks to the Victorian Club for hosting a great competition!

We had some very good skiing from all our club team with a top result from our much improved Sub-junior Gavin Beattie, winning both rounds of slalom & tricks giving him a much deserved sub-junior overall win. I don't know if Gavin's head will ever return to the same size again. Patrick Hunt who had a long break this season due to injury scored 4th place overall in sub-junior boys.

Close on his heels was Robert Blaauw with first place in slalom, a more than respectable 4200 points in tricks, & a 13.0 for second place in jump. Katrina Beattie scored 5th place in the junior girls. Well done all!

Veteran Mens skier (newcomer again) Paul Jones showed the younger skiers that us old farts still have what it takes. Paul won both rounds of tricks, second in slalom & 1st overall. Maybe Paul won't need to borrow my (Chris Judd's) shirt for medals presentation next year. Little Greg Ruthven was surprised to win third overall.
